The Chesterfield armchair: a quality aged leather club armchair

The Chesterfield armchair is part of Maison Saulaie's ambition to offer individuals top-of-the-range furniture, showcasing artisanal expertise. Far from mass industry, Maison Saulaie offers furniture produced to order, Made in France or Made in Europe, designed in demanding artisanal workshops. 

Thus, the Chesterfield armchair is offered in a selection of quality materials, such as the full-grain buffalo leather upholstery which is supple, robust and comfortable. The colour of the leather is applied manually. This is aniline leather, which means that the leather is not "corrected" by chemicals that standardise the colour, but that it is dyed by hand, once the leather armchair is fully upholstered. The colouring products used are natural, water-based products.

The effect obtained is a vintage or aged leather, because the grain of the skin is maintained in its natural state. The animal's life traces are melted into the colour of the leather, which gives it a natural aged effect.

The Chesterfield armchair: hand-sewn upholstery

The buttoned back and armrests of the club armchair  make it a unique model. Maison Saulaie is keen to select upholsterers capable of manually weaving the leather button to the solid beech and pine wood structure of the armchair. This artisanal technique is a guarantee of quality. Indeed, each button is sewn independently, which means that if one of them gives way, the others will remain fixed. The bounce of the back obtained by this buttoning gives a unique comfort and above all a style appreciated by all.
